Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines the permitted use of Web1 Oy's services. All Web1 customers agree to comply with these rules.

2. Prohibited Use

Web1 services may not be used for the following purposes:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Activities that violate Finnish or EU law
  • Infringement of copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Distribution or storage of illegal content

2.2 Spam

  • Mass mailings to recipients who have not given their consent
  • Selling or sharing email lists
  • Use of forged sender information

2.3 Network Abuse

  • Denial-of-service attacks (DDoS) or preparation for such attacks
  • Port scanning or vulnerability research without permission
  • Unauthorised access to other systems
  • Distribution of malware
  • Operating botnets or hosting command-and-control servers

2.4 Resource Abuse

  • Use of services in a manner that disrupts other customers' services
  • Cryptocurrency mining without a separate agreement
  • Intentionally resource-intensive processes in shared environments

3. Consequences

Violations of this policy may result in:

  1. Warning – for first-time or minor violations
  2. Temporary service suspension – for serious or repeated violations
  3. Termination of contract – for severe or ongoing violations

In urgent cases (e.g. an active attack), Web1 may suspend the service immediately without prior notice.

4. Reporting Obligation

The customer must notify Web1 immediately upon discovering:

  • A security breach in their own services
  • Unauthorised use of their services
  • Any other activity that violates this policy

5. Abuse Reports

Third parties may report detected abuse to abuse@web1.fi. We handle all reports without undue delay.

6. Amendments

Web1 reserves the right to update this policy. Customers will be notified of changes at least 14 days in advance.
